Membership Terms & Conditions

1. Agreement and Membership

By purchasing a membership or day pass, you (“the Member”) agree to become a private member of The Lifting Room, operated by Corfu Wellness Centres, located in Greece.

This agreement becomes binding once you tick the acceptance box at the end of your purchase and your payment has been successfully processed.

Your membership grants you access to the facilities and services as described for the type of membership purchased. Memberships are personal, non-transferable, and may not be shared or reassigned to another person.

2. Private Membership Status

By joining Corfu Wellness Centre, you acknowledge that you are entering a private membership agreement and not a public gym or open-access facility.
Access to the facilities is granted only to registered members, under the terms herein.

3. Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

All activities carried out within the premises of Corfu Wellness Centres, including but not limited to physical training, fitness exercises, and use of equipment, are undertaken at your own risk.

You acknowledge and agree that:
- Participation in exercise activities may involve risks of injury, illness, or even death;
- You voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with such participation;
- Corfu Wellness Centre, its owners, management, employees, and contractors shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, accident, property loss, or death resulting from your participation or use of the facilities, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, as provided by Greek law (Article 332 of the Greek Civil Code).

4. Health and Safety Declaration

By accepting these terms, you confirm that:
- To the best of your knowledge, you are in good physical condition and fit to participate in physical activity;
- You have consulted a medical professional before beginning any exercise program, where necessary;
- You will immediately inform Corfu Wellness Centres of any change in your health status that could affect your safe use of the facilities.

5. Code of Conduct and Facility Rules

Members agree to follow all posted and published rules, including but not limited to:
- Using their personal access code only for individual entry;
- Keeping the space clean, replacing weights, and using towels;
- Wearing suitable clothing and footwear;
- Refraining from aggressive or antisocial behaviour, or entry under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- Respecting all safety notices and instructions from staff.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership without refund.

6. Personal Property

Members are solely responsible for their personal belongings.
Corfu Wellness Centre does not accept liability for loss, theft, or damage to any personal property brought onto the premises.

7. Termination of Membership

Corfu Wellness Centre reserves the right to terminate membership with immediate effect if:
- A member breaches these terms or safety rules;
- Misuses access codes or allows unauthorised entry;
- Engages in behaviour deemed unsafe or disruptive.

8. Pin Abuse Policy

  1. Your personal access code can only be used by you: Your code is issued solely for your use, as your membership is personal to you and only covers your use of a gym. You are responsible for keeping your code secure and confidential at all times. The code remains our property at all times (unless agreed otherwise and evidenced in writing).

  2. Use of access codes is monitored: In the interests of the safety and security of all our members, use of codes and access is monitored and individuals using personal access codes may be asked to provide proof of identification.

  3. What we will do if we think your access code has been misused: Should we believe that your code has been used by another individual or individuals we may (in our discretion) decide to conduct an investigation. If we do so we will: (a) inform you, via email, that we believe your access code has been used by another individual or individuals and ask you to provide us with reasonable assistance to investigate the matter; and (b) following our investigation we will contact you, via email, to inform you of our findings and our proposed course of action, which may include one or more of the steps set out in paragraph 4 below.

  4. Our Right to make additional charges and/or cancel your membership: If you unreasonably refuse to cooperate with our investigation, or following our investigation we have reasonable grounds to believe that your code was used, with or without your knowledge and/or consent, by another individual or individuals, depending on the particular circumstances of each case, we reserve the right to take one or both of the following steps, which are in addition to any other legal rights that we may have : (a) to apply a penalty charge to your membership fees (and increase your direct debit payment(s) accordingly). The penalty charge will be calculated as being equal to the daily membership charge (that applied at the time of use) for each occasion on which your code was used by that individual/those individuals; and/or (b) in the event of serious misuse of your PIN number, for example, your code has been used on repeated occasions and/or by more than one individual, to notify you, via email, that we are canceling your membership with immediate effect, and no refunds will be given.

  5. Your responsibility for another’s conduct: If we have reasonable grounds for believing that you knowingly provided your access code to another individual or individuals, or allowed unauthorised entry following your entry to the gym (Known as tailgating) in addition to our rights referred to in paragraph 4 above, we may hold you responsible for the conduct of the individual(s) while on our gym premises, and liable for any loss we suffer as a consequence of that conduct.

9. Daily membership terms and conditions

Principal Terms

This daily membership commences once you have indicated your acceptance in the Declaration section of this web sign up process.
Your membership will be activated on the date you specified, running till midnight of the specified date.
You will be entitled to all the rights and privileges exercisable for the Type of Membership chosen.
You cannot transfer this daily membership to anyone else nor transfer to another date.
Day passes are non-refundable.

10. Closures and Force Majeure

There may be occasions when the Centre must close for maintenance, safety, or emergencies. Reasonable notice will be given whenever possible.
No refunds or extensions will be due for closures outside the Centre’s control, including events of force majeure.

11. GDPR Data Protection and Privacy Consent

Corfu Wellness Centre respects your privacy and complies fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Greek Law 4624/2019.

By ticking the acceptance box, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data solely for the purposes of:
- Managing your membership and access to facilities;
- Communicating with you about your account, renewals, and relevant updates;
- Ensuring safety, legal compliance, and the proper operation of our services.

Your personal data will be securely stored and only accessible to authorised staff. We will never share your data with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data at any time by contacting info@theliftingroomcorfu.com.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece.
Any dispute arising from this agreement shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Greek courts.

13. Declaration and Acceptance

By ticking the acceptance box when paying, you acknowledge that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions;
- You enter into this agreement voluntarily as a private member;
- You fully release Corfu Wellness Centre from any liability for injury, illness, or death, except as limited by Greek law;
- You consent to the collection and processing of your personal data under the GDPR.
